MATTHEW COSSENS

I am an energetic Leader with close to 2 decades experience working for both large and boutique recruitment firms. I am recognised for delivering exceptional results including 15+ years of billings in excess of 1 million dollars per year, an enviable track record of new client acquisition and driving significant business growth year on year.

My success to date is due to my ability to lead from the front and engage, influence and coach my team towards a shared vision and goals, through a collaborative approach and open communication style.

This led to the Aurec Group winning Recruitment International’s Specialist Recruitment Company of the Year in 2018 and personal awards including Seek SARA (Finalist) Recruitment Leader of the Year in 2018 and winning Recruitment International’s Recruiter of the Year for 2017. Ultimately, it culminated in Aurec's acquisition by Randstad Australia in 2020.

I believe in the power of relationships, the value of becoming an expert in your field and that mindset, discipline and execution are the keys to success.

Currently, I have the privilege of leading xrecruiter (an Australian business, with a national footprint) as Chief Growth Officer driving the success or our 35+ Partners holistically, their recruitment businesses and xrecruiter. 

In addition, through MC Squared a company I founded, I am a coach, mentor and speaker across Leadership, Business, High Performance, Sales & Recruitment and passionate about the results and personal growth of my team, clients (internally within the xrecruiter ecosystem and externally to private clients) and individuals in my network. This includes Executives in a wide range of industries.

I have ran seminars for the RCSA in Australia and Employment & Recruitment Federation in Ireland and actively coach/mentor elite performers across the Australian Recruitment landscape.

Outside of work I am supported by my wife (Simone) and kept on my toes by my two beautiful daughters.
