My Reading List - 2023

Anyone who regularly reads my blog knows I enjoy reading. Reading for me has many benefits including changing my mindset, giving me a new perspective, improves my decision-making and helps me explore perceived limitations.

This year, I have worked through some books that I weren’t on my radar thanks to referrals from friends and mentors. Thank you 😊

So what have I been reading? (in no particular order)

  • Never Finished – David Goggins (Twice!)

  • The Four Agreements – Don Miguel Ruiz (I’ve picked up more content from Don Miguel Ruiz since reading this book)

  • Endure – Cameron Haynes

  • Yes To Life in Spite of Everything – Vicktor Frankl

  • You Owe You – Eric Thomas

  • The Future is Faster Than You Think - Peter H Diamandis

  • Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter - Curtis Jackson (Yes, 50 Cent. It’s actually worth the read. He is no what I expected and had some valuable insights)

  • Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself – Joe Dispenza

  • Michael Jordan, Life Lessons From His Airness – David H Lewis

  • Emotional Intelligence 2.0 – Dr Travis Bradberry

  • Beyond Order, 12 More Rules For Life - Jordan Peterson

  • Hear Yourself – Prem Rewat

  • Developing the Leader Within You 2.0 – John Maxwell

  • The Complete 101 Collection – John Maxwell

  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution – Klaus Schwab

Two notable mentions from this year must go to the following:

  1. Never Finished - I loved this book! David Goggins approach and communication style isn’t for everyone, but I not only completed the book but also did the audiobook (there is extra content there, mini podcast style) while I was training during the year. It’s typical David Goggins style, direct to the point and extreme. It’s a cheat sheet to living life on the edge of your limits and consistently challenging who and what you are. You never want to be a part-time savage. In his own words “this is not a self-help book, this is a what the F you are doing with your life book!

  2. The Four Agreements – this book was recommended to me by an executive in my network. It could be skimmed over as a simple read and repetitive but when you spend time in deep thought you realise the power of this book. It goes counter to all the conditioning the world throws at you from a young age. I consider the four agreements often and because of this book have picked up other titles to read this year by the author.

In The List To Read (in no particular order)

My goal will be to work through these before the end of the year.

  • The Psychology of Totalitarianism – Mattias Desmet

  • The Celestine Prophecy – James Redfield

  • Outlive – Peter Attia

  • Just Breathe – Dan Brule

  • Life By Design – Jack Daly

Reach out if you would like to discuss or know more about any of the books above.

What have you read that I should add to my list for 2024?

I’m always looking for new additions to read that are outside my current sphere. Let me know!
